Cloth Nappies – Why Use Them?

These types of nappies are earth-friendly and very easy to take care of. If you are washing them in a proper way, your cloth nappies can last for many years and save you money. These are made from layers of fabric such as bamboo, cotton, hemp, or microfiber and can be washed or reused a number of times.

There are many companies available that also provide reusable swim nappies online.

The Regular Process Of Washing Cloth Nappies

• Remove the stool from the diaper by rinsing it or using the toilet.

• Fill a basin half full with cold water and you can add half a glass of vinegar. If you use a washing machine, you can load everything directly into the machine. Take an extra cycle or two to clean it.

• Soak diapers in cold water with vinegar. Wait until you are sure that there is enough time to loosen the dirt.

• Remove the diaper from the solution and you can start washing. You can also put it in the washing machine and spin it to remove excess water.

• Add cold water and half a cup of baking soda to neutralize the ammonia and lighten the diaper.

• You can leave the diaper in this solution overnight.

• Then drain the water and let the diaper go through the next cycle.

• Wash diapers in warm water and use a mild detergent regularly. If you wash the diapers by hand, you will need to do this in a separate basin and remove the dirt.

• You can rinse the diaper with cold water. Do not use bleach and fabric softener. Softener reduces diaper absorption and bleach weakens diaper fabric.
