An Introduction To Youth With A Mission

Youth with a Mission (YWAM) is an international Christian mission organization founded in 1960. It is one of the largest mission organizations in the world, with over 25,000 full-time volunteers in over 180 countries. YWAM’s mission is to “know God and make Him known” by sending out trained volunteers to reach out to the world’s most unreached people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. YWAM offers a variety of opportunities for young adults to serve in missions. YWAM’s Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) are a great way for young people to gain experience in missions. DTS is a six month program that combines classroom instruction with outreach. Participants are trained in Bible study, evangelism, cross-cultural communication, and more.

YWAM also sends out short-term mission teams to various countries. These teams typically stay for two to three weeks and focus on evangelism, church planting, and social projects. YWAM’s outreach teams are made up of volunteers from all over the world.

YWAM also runs a Leadership Training School (LTS) which is a three month program designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to lead and serve in missions. The school focuses on developing spiritual and practical skills, as well as cross-cultural understanding.
